National Grid
Transmisson Line Improvements Both new transmission lines and upgrades to existing lines are proposed.

Transmission Line Reconductoring We will replace existing wires with new wires that can carry more electricity and some poles will be replaced with taller poles to increase clearances from the ground.

New Transmission Line We propose to add a new 115 kV transmission line within the existing transmission rights-of-way. The new line will pass through North and South Kingstown and also has very short sections in Exeter and East Greenwich. This is a new circuit and requires erection of new poles and lines. The poles will be single, taller poles made of brown-colored steel.

Using the existing rights-of-way will minimize environmental impact including the amount of clearing required. The new line will be located, and require clearing, west of existing poles.
