Why did my bill increase/decrease? There are a number of variables that can cause your electric bill to fluctuate each month. For example the use of an air conditioner during the summer or heat during the winter can significantly change the amount of your bill. When am I charged interest on an unpaid past due balance? Effective February 1, 2014, our late payment charge for non-residential customers will remain at a monthly interest rate of 0.82 percent per month applicable to the unpaid past due balance. The rate is in accordance with the rules of the Department of Public Utilities.

Why do I have to pay sales tax? The application of sales tax is based on the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. A 6.25% sales tax will be included on all non-residential accounts that are not exempt from sales tax.

What rates are available for residential customers? Most of our residential customers are on our standard residential rate. However, we do have some specialized rates for time-of-use and low income customers. View all our rates/prices by visiting Service Rates.

What rates are available for business customers? We have several different types of rates/prices for our business customers based on the amount of energy they use. View all our business rates/prices by visiting Service Rates.

How do you bill customers? We send a monthly service bill to you for your energy use based on your meter readings. If an actual meter reading cannot be obtained, your energy usage will be estimated. Following any month in which your bill is estimated, your account balance is always brought up-to-date on your next service bill, based on your actual energy use.

What part of my bill can I choose another energy supplier for? You can choose another energy supplier for the Supplier Services area of your bill. All our customers have the choice of who supplies their energy. Even if you choose another energy supplier, we will continue to bill you for your Delivery Service.
