WALTHAM, MA – Today the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will present National Grid with a 2017 ENERGY STAR Award in Excellence in ENERGY STAR Promotion at an event at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington D.C. at 5:15pm.
An ENERGY STAR partner for more than two decades, National Grid is being recognized for its 2016 work incorporating ENERGY STAR into its “Life on the Grid” marketing and advertising energy efficiency campaign.
“National Grid is honored to receive this award and proud to partner with ENERGY STAR,” said Dean Seavers, president of National Grid US. “Energy efficiency is the first fuel on the road to transitioning to a clean energy future, so we must continue the work of finding compelling new ways to engage customers to help them save energy while making a positive contribution to the environment.”
Life on the Grid, the company’s integrated, multimedia consumer awareness and marketing campaign, demonstrates how National Grid customers benefit from ENERGY STAR products during their daily lives.
The campaign features emotive and engaging techniques to capture customers’ attention and includes rebates and/or instant price discounts to eligible residential customers who purchased ENERGY STAR certified products, including light emitting diode bulbs (LEDs), compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), room air cleaners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, freezers, furnaces, air conditioners, and water heaters, among others.
The Life on the Grid campaign included advertising, events, web outreach, sales person training and in-store promotion.
